Apparently, there was a mailing to XM radio subscribers last month on a $60/yr promo to renew. Now I just bought a new vehicle with XM that has a 3 mo. trial period. By calling 1-800-845-3072, I asked for the $60 promo, and they said sure, and added on to my 3 mo. trial.

So, this is HOT for XM fans. Call the 800 number and ask for the $60 promo. Worked great for me, even though I did not actually have the letter in hand.

I did it today 11/10...

Hmmm.... Just called at 1:05 PST, and they wouldn't let me get the promotional rate. They want me to have a "promotion code". Anyone have one? I'd be REALLY happy to get this. I have 2 XM radios... PM me, if you would.

$12.95 is twice as much as $9.99? That's new math to me.

EDIT: saw that you said with this deal. Sorry. Vehicle promo codes do not usually work for non OEM radios.

Call them back, and insist to get the promo, you might have had a CSR with an attitude.

Thanks

OK, I called today, and I had NO code, and it worked. I asked to "extend my existing XM" for a year, and then the CSR started rattling off all the different rates etc, and I stopped her in mid-sentence and said I wanted the $60 promo. She said she had to transfer me to that department, and she did. The new person signed me up, no problems. HTH.

Now I did buy a car in the last 2 months, but I was not aware that this was part of the deal. Why it would take 20 minutes for a CSR to tell you that, I'm not sure...

I have had my XM radio for over a year and just called. I gave them my radio ID, verified my address and phone number, then bingo! I got the $60 for a year with no problems. They didn't ask me for a promo code. Therefore, if you want this deal, keep calling until you get a CSR who will give it to you.

On a side note, they had to transfer me a couple times until I got a hold of someone to give me a deal. I wasn't put on hold and the whole call took a total of 5 minutes. :)

Premium Services don't count by the way, so if you get Opie and Anthony like I do, it is still $2 a month. No biggie there.

I hope this is not the case. This is a great deal (even though I am a Sirius person myself) for any fan of satellite radio. I haven't tried XM yet, but if I didn't have all of my Sirius equipment, I would pick up Delphi unit today. Good luck to those who try to get in on this deal.

I almost wish that I wasn't dumping XM, but I Gotta get Stern. May stick with them for another year if I can get this deal.

Anyone interested in a brand new TimeTrax Direct? I know, use the FS forum.

Anyone know if this works for multiple units? Is the first unit $60 a year and the rest are subject to the family plan?

Stern isn't coming to Sirius until 2006. So you have a year. If you are going to dump XM, do it after you get your year for $60. :)

This isn't the case. I called and got the deal on the first shot. If I can do it, and I have had my XM radio for over a year, then anyone can do it. I am sure there are some dork CSRs out there that will deny some people the deal. Just call back.

So far, the two people I handed this deal off too are batting .1000 as well. One of them had to call back, but got the deal on the call back. I don't know who pissed in his cereal, but this deal is still active and very hot for us XMers. :)

w00t! Worked for me! The girl put me on hold for a few minutes since "the computers were being slow" so it was maybe a 7 minute phone call total. When she came back, she asked me if I had heard about the promo in a letter they I had recieved, so I said "of course..." Luckily she didn't ask me for a promo code or anything so everything is good. Set up for a year at $60! Too bad they didn't let me buy a few years of service at that price...

Thanks yellowfiero!

I have an XM radio and my wife has one. Apparently, this is only for the primary radio since the others on your plan are already getting a discount to $6.99 per month. I couldn't get her's on this discount as well which is too bad. I did ask though. :)

Oh well. $60 is better than $120. :)
