Renaming Bootcamp Partition

Is there a way to rename my Bootcamp partition from inside OSX? Currently it's called "Untitled" and it drives me crazy. I'd like to rename it Bootcamp or just not have it mount at all when I boot.

Is there a way to accomplish either one or both of these objectives? I'd prefer to figure out how to rename it. I tried the 'diskutil rename' command in the terminal window but it didn't work.

No, you need to rename the drive in Windows. There it is just labeled as C: (maybe Local Disk C🙂 in Computer, so you need to right click and say to rename it. Call it whatever else you like. I named my Windows when I was dualbooting.

Thanks. I was looking for a more complex solution 🙂

You can enable NTFS in the terminal and then you'll get write access then you'll be able to change the name in the Finder. But be careful because native NTFS read/write in OS X is not 100% ready for primetime.

Thanks, but there is really no reason not to just got into Windows to do the rename.

Oh, I thought you were looking for the complex solution 🙂.

I think he meant that he was anticipating/expecting/whatevering a complex answer. To receive a simple one 'rename it in Windows' defied his expectations.
