Removing windows updates

Just wondering if there is a way or a program to remove windows updates if they don't show up in add remove programs. I didn't use IE to install them. I used firefox with the site http://windowsupdate.62nds.com/. I think there is one that might be causing some problems and I would like to get rid of it.

What problems are the windows updates causing?
I don't know of any programs to remove windows updates, I think you should just back up your data and reformat.

If you go to your registry editor and browse to HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Uninstall, you'll see all the updates listed there. You can rename the key to .old and that will essentially "uninstall" the update. Make sure to back up your system in case you run in to any problems.

Just making sure, though I'd guess you did this - Did you make sure that Show updates checkbox was marked at the top of you Add or Remove Programs windows?

Although I have no idea why it wouldn't show up in there, even if you installed it via another route, I just thought I would make sure.

check this first.

If that doesn't pan out, use the $kbuninstall folders located under Windows.

Plan C:
drop to recovery console and navigate to one of the updates for instance:
C:\windows\$NtUninstallKB885250$\spuninst
Run "batch spuninst.txt" and it will uninstall.

Plan D:
Depending on the nature of the update you can also rename that spuninst.txt file to .bat and run it from within windows.

Plan E:
Install the last service pack again. It will uninstall every update that has been applied since.
