Removing thermal paste

Wipe it off with a soft, preferebly lint-free cloth/tissue and then clean it thoroughly with isopropyl alcohol, the purer the better(99% is as good as you can get AFAIK)

I agree. Isopropyl and Cotton buds are good to clean with.
