I'm installing my CNPS9500 tomorrow and need some help.

I've got AS5, AS Cleaner and Remover, and the CNPS9500.

My questions are:

What is the best way to remove the Thermal paste from stock? I've got Q-Tips, cleaner/remover, and new AS5.

Any suggestions on installing the CNPS9500?

And one more: My stock has gotten up to 56C+ at times but has idles at 47 - 51C. Would that damage the processor at all?

Wipe it off with a tissue/soft cloth then use some alcohol on a qtip and wipe it down. Let it all dry for about 10minutes.

Your temps are fine. Just follow the instructions and you'll be ok. Just don't spread the As5, put a small dot in the middle of the CPU and smash the HSF on it.

One more question, due to my inability to sleep and the fact a psychotic murder is running around my town I've decided to go ahead and do the project now.

I've got the back plate from the CPU, should I put the CPU back in that little holder, lay it down, then clean it? Or can I keep it in the motherboard?
