Removing stock AMD HSF

I know this is the wrong forum, but I know I'll get a MUCH faster answer here.

I have a s754 Sempron system and I just bought an aftermarket cooler. Now I'm trying to remove the stock HSF and it's just not budging. I don't want to pull too hard and rip the CPU out of the socket.

Take a flathead screwdriver, wedge the tip into the indentation at the end of one of the HSF arms. Push down, then lever the screwdriver so that it pushes the arm out and away from the ZIF socket.

Sounds as though your paste or thermal pad is stuck to the cpu, try the fuzzy method, pull it from the socket, or leave well enough alone. I have pulled one cpu once from a closed socket once, didnt damage it, BUT, you can pull pins off and I dont recommend it in any way.
