i have a small program that controls my scanner that loads up everytime i boot up in win xp. so when i boot up without the scanner connected (i only have 2 USB ports) it displays all sorts of dialog about not being able to connect to the scanner. it's quite annoying and i've been trying to get rid of it starting.

ofcourse there's no option to prevent it from starting in the program. so i looked around in the startup folders and couldnt find anything, looked around in the program's directory for config files and couldnt find anything, and even poked around in the registry a bit. nothing. so now i'm stumped on how to stop this thing from loading. anyone have any suggestions? the program is FlatBed Direct.

try using MSCONFIG, click start, run, type msconfig, once msconfig open, click startup, and look for the program u don't need at startup.
hope this helps
