Removing permanent marker....

I wrote some things on a computer case with a sharpie...now I want to remove it....what should I use? Will rubbing alcohol work witout messing up the paint underneath?

Test the rubbing alcohol in an inconspicuous spot first, it should take the marker out, but it may melt the paint.

Depending on what the paint is, any of those may work, and brake cleaner or carb cleaner MAY also work...but both MAY remove the paint as well. I've used brake cleaner to remove paint (graffitti) from cars before without damaging the factory paint. I've also used it to remove Marks-a-lot marker before, but those kinds of markers tend to dye into the tiniest pores, and may be difficult to completely remove.
