removing northbridge

Hey guys, I want to apply some Arctic Silver 5 to my northbridge. I'm just curious, do I have to take out my motherboard in order to remove the northbridge? It has these two pins with springs around it and i'm not sure what to do in order to get it out. I have a gigabyte ds3 (no one was able to give me a response in the ds3 thread).
 
Yes, you'll have to remove your motherboard out of the case. On the bottom side of the motherboard, you'll have to squeeze the plastic retainer thingies of those pins in order to get the pins off and northbridge removed.
