Removing Molly Bolts

Senior member
It's easy to remove Molly bolts from Hollow walls but i accidentally hammered one into a stud. How do i remove it without much damage to the stud. Any ideas?

It sounds like you will have to patch the drywall after removal anyway. So why not go ahead and cut an extra couple inches of drywall around the bolt for easier access. Perhaps the removal method will be clearer to you once you can see the lay of the land...

Why bother removing it. Drill it down an 1/8" below the surface and spackle it.

That's what I'm thinking. It won't hurt the stud to leave it there. Cut it off and spackle over it.
