I just removed the heat sink and fan from my BFG Geforce4 Ti 4600. They used expoy to secure the heatsink and fan. I removed it but there is still some epoxy left behind, how can I remove this without scraping it off???
Thanks.

Are you being serious??? Where can I get it and will it damage the chip at all??

Thanks.

Yes I'm serious and no it won't hurt the chip. You can get it at the local hardware or home improvement store. Goof off will also work but since it is xylene based you will have a harder time with epoxy.

I tried prying off my heatsink off my BFG Geforce 4 ti4200, but that stuff is really hard sh!t. I tried the refrigerator method and using acetone to thin it, prying it off with a flat head screwdriver many times, but i can never get the heatsink off.

funny thing thats what I had that I sold to a friend he tried to pry it off and bye bye chip. He showed it to me and I took flat head screw drive, a real small one, the ones that have a clip on it like a pen does. Slid it between the heat sink and broken cpu and turned it. Poped right off.
