ok i put a p4 1.8 together and wanna run 2.2 gigs or more if ossible...i have excellent cooling flow. But i added too much thermal paste i am afraid. and i dont trust my mobo temps...soyo p4s mobo...i have read that the temps lie. anyway i applied the paste with a paper towel but wasnt aware it should be super thin...and its generic paste...now i have a case of 120 tubes of arctic silver 3 sittin here. But i cant figure out how to remove the AVC sunflower without damaging anything....any advice?

I just received my sunflower and the clamping mechanism is a lot tighter than the stock Intel setup. You need to unlock the two levers up top, then pry the (4) fingers off the bottom mouting bracket. Also, do not use a lot of Arctic Silver grease, all you need is a THIN coat.

BTW, don't use a paper towel. The lint that sheds off can affect paste performance. When OCing, every little bit helps.
