Removing a PCI-E Card

How the heck do you remove a PCI-Express card? I removed the screw holding it in place, but the inside part of it (meaning, the opposite end with the monitor connections) seems to "stick." It has that little white clip, but what are you supposed to do with that? Push on it somehow?

I feel so stupid.

Yes, there is a tab on it and you push it so it releases the card. I like to pull gently on the card with one hand as I push it so it comes out in a nice fluid motion.

Is it a tab on the card or on the motherboard's slot, though?

There is very little room for me to see beneath the slot (where a switch would presumably be), so I can't see it.

I'm talking about a little white tab ON the video card itself.

This is so frustrating! I remember this happened when I went from a 6600 to a 7800. -_-

The little white clip either slides or pivots. Try pushing down on the end of the white clip while pulling on the PCIe card. If the clip is the pivoting type, it'll try to eject the card from the slot.

If that doesn't work, try sliding the clip sideways towards the front of the case. In either case, the core concept here is that the card's edge connector has a "claw" at one end, which you can see somewhat in this pic :camera: (the part of the edge connector that has no gold contacts on it, at the right). The white clip holds onto that claw.

I got it. It was virtually impossible to see the latch based on the phsyical setup of the case.
