Does the spigot/spout still rotate?

If so, you should remove this first, by wagging it back and forth, and slowly lifting it up.

with a pair of adjustable pliers.

The only adjustable pliers I have are to small, I figured a plumbers wrench would work just as good, no? I can run out to Ace if need be, but I don't think its going to make this thing turn at all.

It rotates just fine. So I'm rotating it back and forth and pulling it upwards at the same time, slowly. It just seems to want to pull the entire sink up with it. Doesn't appear to want to come loose on its own.

Sit in the sink, and try it again :).

rofl.... Alright. I'm going to trust you on this one. I guess I can't do much worse than flooding my house again. I'm going to pull this motherfucker really hard, while in the sink. I hope I don't damage the sink/countertop in the process!

Oh, crap. It came off, he fell out of the sink, cracked his skull and is sending his lawyer after you.

Are you trying to remove the entire faucet assembly? If so, you're doing it wrong.

Going at it from the top is only going to give you access to the inner workings of your faucet valve. If you want to remove the whole thing you need to get under the sink. Your faucet assembly is like the top of a bolt passing through the sink itself, so you need to remove the nut on the bottom. ("That's what she said.")

As I said earlier, if you can't get to it, remove the SINK from the countertop. It will much easier to do it that way. Or please, Admit Defeat (it won't hurt much) and pay a Pro to do the job.

I will never ever admit defeat.... It's personal now. Its me vs the sink.

Alright, the spigot is NOT coming off. I repeat, it's NOT coming off. Something is holding in there. So.... looking at the underneath of the sink again, I am going to attempt to take off the nut holding that square brass attachment.

Ok, here's an update..... I'm almost to victory lane......

I was able to loosen the brass piece under the sink holding it in place. I also got the supply lines off at the bottom (not attached to sink, but pipes coming in) so I could theoretically pull the sink up through the top and disconnect the supply lines there and be done.

One problem.... that brass piece is still connected. It won't come off all the way down because the supply line going up into the middle of the faucet has a nut that is holding the brass piece still on. I can't get the nut off under the sink, its on to tight and there is no space to work. I want to crack the brass piece off, but I'm not having luck doing that either. I've tried positioning a flathead against a very skinny piece (maybe 1/6th in wide) and bashing it with a hammer as best I can, but it hasn't cracked. Hell, I will saw the faucet off at the top if I could.

Any suggestions on this?

dude, can you just pry off the sink? or are there pieces of wood and screws holding it in place? i'd just take the thing off, remove the faucet, install new one, caulk sink back in place.

So basically the pipe nipple that is left there is too large to come out with the faucet? This is usually not the case.
