Hey guys, needed that space for something else for the time being, i deleted the partitions and created a new one, everything is fine,...

but now when i boot i still have the Mandrake thing pop up.. and i have to Select NT...

i check the boot.ini but its right...

any help ?

nothing a lilo -u wouldn't solve....provided you hadn't erased the partition....

Now you'll need the windows CD, use the repair option to repair the MBR!!

if you're using a NT type windows yes, if it's 9x get a bootdisk with fdisk in it a do a fdisk /mbr
...

just thought I might mention that normal BOOTIE disks do not have fdisk. This is why thornc said it like this:

<< f you're using a NT type windows yes, if it's 9x get a bootdisk with fdisk in it a do a fdisk /mbr >>

Good luck...I fought this EXACT problem for like an hour...b/c I had XPprof and couldn't get a friggin' 98 fdisk to werk w/ it! where do you type that windows yes @? I don'tunderstand that really? 😀

God Bless

pop in Windows 2000/XP CD. Boot from it.
Go to the recovery console (repair -> manual -> recovery console for windows 2000)
type help to get a list of the commands (if you want to)
The one you want is:

fixboot or fixmbr (I don't recall in which one of those LILO is situated, I think the MBR, not the boot block)

Enter exit - which will make the computer reboot
Reboot windows 2000.

Done.

<< why are you trying to remove linux? dont give up yet man! fight it out >>

LoL, i needed the space, annnnd because i gave up.. 😱

Just a question, is it possible to use the 9x boot disk, then run fdisk/mbr or will i screw everything up that way...

You should be able to do that, but if there is no compelling reason against it, the above method will really work... 🙂
