I got a new dell with a bunch of CRAP from Dell on it and it was already acting funny logging on to informdell of every thing i opened, so I formated the drive and installed just xp pro. Now there is a dual boot slecetion both with xp, but only the first one works, is still there.

How can i remove the second boot from file without having to try and reinstall again. I use this laptop for school notes, so boottime is very important

You can find it in the root of bootable partition where your system is. Unhide protected operating system files and tick Show hidden files and folders in Start - Settings - Control pannel - folder options - view tab

do yourself a favor and type "boot.ini" after pressing F1 on your desktop in the SEARCH

you will be reading a whole lot, but it's worth the head ache if you get any.

umm go to system properties -> advanced tab -> startup and recovery settings -> system startup edit -> BOOM thats your boot ini.

just google to find the what it should look like for one a single OS
