Remove plastic hanger tab from packaging?

I finally found a good copy of SMT: IV but they have one of those plastic hanger things on the back of it; anyone know if a good way to remove those without tearing the package? Steam?
 
Goo Gone. It's just glue, soak it in a little Goo Gone and it should dissolve enough to pull off safely. Fair warning, it'll probably smell like Goo Gone forever at that point. You might be better off just snipping off the excess with a pair of scissors.
 
Goo Gone worked well; I now have a NM sealed boxed copy of SMT: IV. I say near mint because there is a very thin crease at the top of the box that's bugging me, but what can I do when they all come shipped in padded envelopes? 🙁
