The new trial version on Morpheus sucks, I want the old one back!!
The new one doesn't let you select media type, or anything. It does look a little more "windowsey" which seems
to be what people are after, but I still like the features of the old one better.

I uninstalled the old Mopheus the other day and just reinstalled today for the hell of it and it's working fine. 51,000 users currently on-line sharing over 28 gigs.

is anyone else using Morpheus right now?

well, kazaa/grokster has 1 million plus users, with more then 1 petabyte of shared files, so even if it did function like it used to, there wouldn't be nearly the file selection...

upon following instruction..

I still find a "cydoor" term in my registry..
should I be concerned about the effectiveness of 100% removal of the spyware...

btw, how to get rid of the "annoying" splash screen when start up.. ?

thanks

You are finding the dummy .dll file now, just mark it "add to ignore list"

Disable KaZaA from launching with startup, that should get rid of the splash

ok, I was using Morpheus, but like everyone said, the changes made it less likable. lol I have also switched over to KaZaA (no complaints), but I'm using WINDOWS XP Home Edition, and I haven't seen anyone address that version. Or maybe I just missed it. hehe

All the folders that everyone is saying to extract to, I don't seem to have/see. oops =\

Does anyone know where exactly I should extract the dummy files??

thanx in advance. =)

I am running XP pro I just extracted the files to c:\windows\system32 on 98/me Im almost sure that it is just c:\windows\system. If i was you I would try system32 first then try system just use adaware to remove these if it does'nt work right ! It really cant hurt! Also to all you people that are running adaware make sure you update it! Its really simple just extract the file reflist.sig to c:\programfiles\lavasoftfolder and overwrite the old one!

Woohoo! Thanx Dreadogg for the post. 😉 Everything works great.

In fact, thanx to all who post helping out. lol

Beware of Morpheus Preview Edition...this is from Cnet

<< How about this reg. entry it tries to insert, what's this about?

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
"b3dUpdate"="C:\\WINDOWS\\BDE\\Update\\Zupdate.EXE -silent -p \"C:\\WINDOWS\\BDE\\Update\" -s setup.cab"
>>

I don't know but kazaa still works if you remove it.

My guess would be that since the key title is "b3dUpdate" that this script above in your REGEDIT checks to see if you have the latest release of Kazaa, and if not, prompts you to download it.

here you all go this will let you get music above 128 1. Go to your start menu and run start and type regedit (just for people it dont know how to edit the registry)
2. Click on HKEY_CURRENT_USER.
3. Scroll down to Software and then click on it.
4. Scroll down and find the Kazaa directory.
5. When you have this selected it there should be a Dword which says LimitBitrate (but if not you can easily add one by going to edit, new Dword value. Enter LimitBitrate).
6. Double click on it and change the decimal value to zero

there ya go!
