remove ie7 icon from desktop

Hi there, I'm trying to remove my IE7 icon from my desktop and I can't seem to figure out how. Can anyone help me?

I've tried just deleting it, but it just reappears again after a while.
I've tried ticking/unticking/reticking/unticking the tickbox in Desktop right-click -> Properties -> Desktop -> Customize Desktop -> General but that doesn't work either.

I'm using IE7, fully updated, and Windows XP Pro SP2.

that doesn't seem to work either :S If I tick the box, and click apply, then untick and click apply, it disappears, but it turns up again later.

That's annoying. You could always make a 1 pixel icon the same color as your desktop and assign it to your IE7 shortcut, and then rename the shortcut using alt+255 (a blank character). That would effectively remove it.
