Remove google apps, update, everything

I'd like to remove everything from google. Chrome is already uninstalled (never meant to install it in the first place but that is another story) but I've still got the update plugin, \google dir, google update services etc.

Google support says to wait 1 hour and it will uninstall itself, and to manually deal with the updater.

Would that be sufficient or do I need to do more cleaning up?

Edit- Correction:I reread the link and it said a few hours, not 1 hour.

When, I think over a year ago, Google reached critical mass in privacy invasion/tracking, I determined to remove everything Google as well, I first did it the usual ways, then went into the registry and removed all its keys.

Do you have a gmail account? If you do, either get rid of it, or find the well-hidden privacy options and deal with them.

"Well hidden" and what that represents... being the operative issue.:|

And, it's not just gmail, it's Chrome, Google as a search engine.....all of it.

Yeah, I had to make the decision of how far I wanted to go with it. For example, I could not get rid of Google as a search engine. The other ones collect just as much information, just from different places. And the ones that say they don't, well.... honestly, they suck.

Personally, I still use my gmail account, but I only access it through Thunderbird (as apposed to signing in on the web, which signs you onto other sites) and selected as many privacy options as I could find.

But, since having switched to IXQuick long ago I get NOT ONE TRACKING COOKIE! They say they do not track and I believe them. and I don think it sucks; I think it's actually better, and if you just key in the right things---it doesn't anticipate like Google---I think it rocks.

Pls say what you think!!!

Yes and with privacy options set but it should not affect the google installation on the pc. I don't run gmail notifier or anything remotely similar.

Theres no longer any google program uninstall list but the FPOS google update folder is still under program files. I'll continue to leave it be for a few hours.
