Remove Direct X 8. How?

Anyone know how I can remove Direct X 8 back to 7. My computer been freezing even since I installed 8.

Some time ago I needed to revert from DX7 to DX6 for a game or something.

Simply installing DX6 over DX7 worked.

I think you'll find all the DXx component drivers have the same names - just different code for different DXx versions - should over-write safely.

Before reverting, have you installed the most recent video card drivers, or at least drivers that support Direct X 8?

If not it would explain your problems.
