I know usually, people do it the other way, with your device remoting into your desktop, but I am looking for a way to have pretty much full control of a itouch from a desktop.

The reason is, a senior wants to have a way to view videos, but, they have really bad arthritis, so they can't use their hands to touch things. I can setup a playlist, but, that requires me to go there (65 miles).
I am looking for a way to remote in, and setup what I need to setup, then launch the player for them.

Anyone know if there is a good way to do this on a itouch ?

Are you looking for something like AirDroid or Samsung SideSync for iOS devices?

How about TunesGo? It appears to work similarly?

If not you may get better answers in Apple subforum.

Well, thanks, but it looks like Apple doesn't want this to happen.
However, full remote control of iPad, iPhone or iPod touch is in violation of Apple terms and conditions. Bomgar continues to monitor the situation and is prepared to offer the ability to remote control iPad, iPhone and iPod touch devices once a sanctioned method is made available. But at this time, neither Bomgar nor our competitors may legally remote control Apple iOS devices

Guess I should get them an android device, and that will do what I need.

You can do it with jailbreaking. Otherwise, just get one of those cheap $50 Android tablets & setup a VPN server for remote control that way.

Question...if the arthritis is so bad that they can't touch a screen, how do you expect them to be able to turn on a device and perform any client side responses? Surely there is a way to rig up a capacitive stylus (like the giant pen ones) in some fashion that they can grasp or move it. That would be much, much simpler than messing around with VPN's, remote control software, android OS's and so on.

I used to do it all the time with a jailbroken iPhone and iPod touch.

The VNC library had some problems though.

do they already have a tablet?
a cheap hp stream laptop could be used with teamviewer or something, and those things are dirt cheap

Actually, they got a custom made case that it sits in, with a lever to turn it on/off.
Not a bad idea about a stylus either...

Nope, no tablet yet, not a bad idea about one of those.

Oh, I thought about doing a jailbreak on it, but, not sure I want to go that far on that device.
