i want to connect to my laptop that has xp home, the only problem is, it only has remote access, i try to install it from MS site but is says it is already installed
client side is, but server side isnt, i dont have the remote desktop options under
control panel>system>remote tab
all that is there is remote access
with XP pro there is remote access and remote desktop
any ideas?
 
XP Home, to my knowledge, doesn't have Remote Desktop. You MIGHT be able to connect to a computer running Pro, but I'm pretty sure no system can RD into the laptop running Home.

Just use UltraVNC with the mirror driver -- it works great.
 
IIRC, XP home isn't supposed to have the feature to be a Remote Desktop host, only Pro. You'll have get Pro or try other remote software, like VNC.
