Remote Desktop

I'm remote desktop to a Domain. When the system goes idle for 5-10mins the system locks. So when I try to press the Ctrl+Alt+Del it's on my local rig, not RD. Anyone know how to correct this or to log back in? My workaround has been to disconnet and reconnect. It send a login to the RD system.

Thanks,

The only way it would not work for me is if the window for the RTC is not maximized. It you maximize so that the IP address bar is at the top of the desktop with no system title bar, it won't let you C-A-D? As a lark, try setting the Start bar on you desktop so it is not Always On Top and see if that fixes it.

I think when you're in an RDP session, you need to use CTRL, ALT, END instead.
Correct!

However MSTSC shouldnt be showing you the ususal "this computer is locked..." dialog, it should be taking you straight to the username/password screen.

You are using MSTSC (as opposed to some 3rd client) right?

Where is that "Mark as Answer" button...

I am sitting here wondering why it always seems to work when my session times out and locks. But yes, C-A-E is what works. I have not used a RDC session until timed out in months, so my memory must be foggy.

Edit - yes, my memory was foggy. A timed out session never presents the C-A-D Gina interface. So, no CAD for me. Was mistaken in thinking it was working for me.

We've got a winner! What do have for him Johnny....

Thanks

CAE is the way to go, you should also have a Windows Security button on the start menu that does the same thing.
