Remote desktop

i've just discovered and set up remote desktop today, on two XP professional machines. i've set up IIS on one machine and forwarded it to the outside world, so i can access it from remote locations. my question is, how secure is this? i'm kind of wary of microsoft security. i have port 3389 forwarded to the one machine, then i can log on to that and do another remote desktop to the other machine if i want to. i also have IIS pointing to an obscure random port (not any variation of "80").

When you run a server on a regular home Network you have to keep ports open and there is nothing you can do about it.

Type into a Google bar - How to secure iis - you will get a lot of links go through few of them see what fits your way of using it, you might find relevant info.

As for Remote Desktop, look at this page it is as easy as ?NetBEUI? 😉 :shocked:might be more suitable to your situation (do not forget the encryption plug-in).
