I don't believe remote desktop services is installed default on Win2k Pro. Is there a way to install it?

yes there is actually.

It is called Terminal Services, and uses the RDP 5.0 protocol

You can use it on 2kpro but only as a client..ie you can control but cannot be controlled

Xp works both ways.

for the NT5 versions(2k pro server) Server and above can be controlled...I controll XP machines and a 2k server machine regularly

Win2k uses WTS_win32 client to connect to Win2k WTS server, but it is best to use the Universal Remote Desktop Connection client on it. Universal Remote Desktop Connection has bug fixes over WTS & you don't need to have multiple floppy disk and pactkets.
