Remote Desktop on more than one computer on a home network?

Hi guys I was wondering if its possible to set up more than one remote computer on a home network. I have RDC set up on one machine right now but I have a spare computer I have connected and want to remote as well. Anybody know how I go about doing that? or point me to a guide?

Are you trying to connect remotely from outside the network or internally? If internally, just use the internal IP. From outside, I don't know if it is possible since you only have one external IP. You could use Windows Remote Desktop on one computer and a program like RealVNC on the other.

You can just map a different port on your router to the RDP port on the internal system. E.g. routerip:5000 maps to machine 1, routerip:5001 maps to machine 2, etc.

Hi guys thanks for the tips, but forgive my noobness but how do i go about doing that on my linksys router?

Microsoft's Windows Home Server will also do this for you automatically, letting you use the standard 3389 port on the client PCs, and no need to set static IP addresses on anything. Plus, of course, making automated daily image backups of all your PCs.
