Remote Desktop Connection

Touchdown

Curious if anyone has used the Remote Desktop Connection in Windows XP Pro. I'm thinking about setting that up so I can access my home PC from work and wanted to get any feedback or hints before I do so.

Thanks

I access my home WinXP Pro PC from work using Remote Desktop every day. It works great, my home computer has a cable modem broadband connection and work has a T1 line.

The only hints you need is that you better have a wide pipe at both ends and you have to open and forward the right port in your firewall or NAT router at home. Beyond that setup and use is pretty much a breeze. It's also one of the few MS network services that is reasonably secure.

If you are behind a NAT or firewall you should forward the ports in the range of 3388 to 3390 to your computer. I use remote desktop several times, and it worked great.
