Remote Desktop and Launching games

I searched the boards and didn't find an answer so here it goes:

Just recently I set up my home computer to enable remote dekstop connection since I usually work at the computers on Campus and wanted to also be able to access my home PC.

However, when I'm remotely connected to my home PC and I try to launch a game (in this case Counter Strike: Source) it doesnt launch the game, it can only get as far as to launching Steam.

Now I can run Apps such as winamp and others, but I'm just wondering if its possible to get CS:S to work remotely or if thats impossible.

Thanks

There's not enough bandwidth between your home and your school to support all that information trying to be transferred. It might work if you were on the same subnet and wired, but even then I'm doubtful.

I think it would be difficult to do anything that switches graphics mode, such as full-screen games. That begs the question... will a windowed game work?

Most DirectX functions (DirectDraw/D3D) are not supported through the RDP virtual display driver.

Hence, no DirectX-based games.
