Hi, I have an infared remote control that i purchased along with my hollywood + dvd decoder card. I don't get much use out of it, but I saw someone mention on these boards that you can get software that allows you to use it to control other stuff in windows (ie winamp, media players, etc.). Can anyone direct me to where I could find a program like this or the name of one or two of them? I already asked that person and they never replied to me. Thanks for any help.

IRAssistant & Girder are 2 good free remote appz.
I managed to get IRAssistant working w/ WinLIRC server to detect my PB remote. Let's me do much more than the WinLIRC plugin for winamp. Try either of those. Both have hardware pages to explain how well & what to do to get each app running for your remote type. I remember seeing Hollywood + remote remarks in the IRAssistant forum - so that'd be my first suggestion

well, I didn't see the Hollywood + remote right away on irassistant's site, so scratch that (unless u wanna do some digging)
I did see this on girder's features page.
Creative iNFRA (RealMagic Hollywood + is also supported) receiver by Dan Grainger

so that looks a bit more promising - but girder's controls are harder to program in.
