Hi,

Is it possible to do some remote CD writing over a network ?
We at work have a win98 computer with a 20Gigabyte harddisk thats only used for sharing MP3's.

Now we've installed a cd-writer and we want to give everybody the possibility to write CD's with this machine, but is it possible WITHOUT some remote tool like pc-anywhere / remote desktop.. ?

Thanks !

So each PC has a copy of CD Creator on it (or something similar) and maps the CD burner as a remote drive???

My gut feel is that the CD writing application would need to talk to the CD burner at a low level - i.e. via drivers, and not just pass files to it - so this wouldn't be possible.

The other problem would be that CD burners usually require a steady streem of data to ensure a good burn... over a network you are likely to get data loss. I know when we have burnt CD's from a remotely mounted hard disk we normally end up with coasters.
