From where I can find a remote administration utility under
Windows 2000 Pro for Windows 2000 Advanced Server?
I think I can find it some where on the original CD...

Do you mean you want to remotely administer a W2KAS box from a W2KPro box?

First off, many of the MMC snap-ins can be run against a remote computer. Install adminpak.msi to get all the snap-ins on your W2KPro box, and you can pretty much administer the remote computer that way.

If you're talking about having a remote control session, what you want is Terminal Services. Go to Add/Remove programs on the server, go to Add/Remove windows components, and add Terminal Services. Choose remote administration mode.

Then, on the server machine, go to the start menu and find the utility that creates Terminal Services client diskettes. Create the diskettes, take 'em to the Pro box, and install the Terminal Services client on the Pro box.

Launch terminal services client and connect to the server machine. :)

no reason to create the disks... just install it straight from the server over the network.. their in C:\WINNT\system32\clients\tsclient\net\win32 by default. just go to the c$ share or share the directory with read only access so that U can install it easily to other machines...

or setup IIS so that U can use the web interface.... no client needed that way.
