Remodeling a house. Where to get Cabinets, countertops, etc?

I looked at it but it seems to cost more then Solid or Quartz. I do like the look and since we are replacing the cabinets weight form any solid surface like this is ok.

Maybe I have been looking in the wrong places but everything I see puts it at a higher cost ratio and money will be kinda tight.

Also the link you gave only list 3 people for NC and 2 sites are closed and the other does not do countertops.

Money was tight with me, so I went with laminate. It is so much better now than old laminate countertops were. I went with a color similar to the black one here. It looks like solid stone, but at $11/linear foot it was under $300 for the whole kitchen. Compare that to granite which would have cost me $3000 + labor, and the choice was obvious to me. I'm quite happy.

I just googled for the stuff and linked you to that one so you can see what I was talking about. If/when I go to remodel Im going that route myself because it is vertualy indestructable. And I dont know about that site but before I turned off the cable I was watching way to may shows on remodeling and everyshow I seen them do a concrete counter they claimed it was cheaper then anything else and looked beautiful and wouldnt of ever thought just looking at it it was crete. So maybey google and call a few places and see? That site may be crazy but I cant think a lousy wooden form, some coloring, and crete would be all that much or hard to do yourself.

my dad runs a 'high end' custom cabinet shop so i may be a little skewed here but real wood is where its at and you are probably not going to get it or solid surface for cheap. sorry dude.

mdf isnt bad these days and neither is a formica surface. just treat everything well and it will last a while.

edit: forgot to say if you're going to go economy go all the way with it. it may be tempting to buy medium quality box and a beautiful top but you will regret it in the long run.

Richlite

We just put it into a house and I prefer it to granite to be honest. Similar properties and not nearly as "cold" looking. Also...more expensive than laminates but much cheaper than granite etc.
