From Buy.com right now for free shipping.

croaking, huesmann, suicidal, remember, NO CRAPPING ON SOMEONE ELSE'S THREAD!!!

Besides being rude and unproductive, you run the risk of looking ignorant and uninformed, as all three of you do here. Kodak rechargables are among the best.

craoking, huesmann, and suicidal, ARE WE CLEAR?

If you don't have anything productive to say, move on.
Buy.Com has pretty good prices onthese

Those kodaks are nice in my Coolpix 800. Seem to last about a 100 shots or so before recharge. Always nice to have a spare. Buy 2 packs at $15.33, then use a $10 off $30 to make it even a better deal.

Slightly lower capacity 1200 mA-H NiMH AAs are available from MCM Electronics for 99 cents apiece almost all the time.

Thanks..That place looks good also. Too many decisions for this little brain.
Seems like the Maha are almost equiv to the new Kodak, but you aren't paying for the brand name.

If you guys want, Radio Shack has a charger and 4 Nickel MH batteries for like 19.99 (+tax). I bought them a while back for my camera, and at their site it's I think 21.99.

Hey Random,

My friend and I just bought Coolpix 800's and he also ordered the Nikon Coolpack. He says the case is really nice and much better than the flimsy black leather case that came with the camera. The Coolpack also comes with 4 rechargeable batteries, a charger and 4 28mm filters for the camera. One of the filters, the UV filter, is recommended for use at all times to protect the lens. Instead of just getting the charger/batteries for $40, you might want to look at spending the extra ~$45 for the Coolpack. You can check it out on Nikon's home page.

On my friend's recommendation, I just bought one from Buy.com. Free shipping and if you throw in something else (I threw in a DVD) to get over $100, you can use the $20 off $100 coupon to basically get the DVD or whatever for free. Hope this helps.

Quasi off topic regarding rechargeable battery deals; I bought an INNOVATIONS BATTERY CHARGER ULTRA it supposedly charges everything from AAA up to D-Cell. After doing some research I've heard it can't fully charge some of the high capacity NICAD'S and NIMH batteries. I have researched and found a lot of info on what is out there that doesn't work but can't find what chargers are available to amply recharge the high capacity NICAD and/or NIMH C-Cells and D-Cell batteries...or 9-Volts. If anyone knows information regarding this please post a reply.

Thanks LegionsOfDoom! (Sounds strange if you say it out loud)

I can't use any more buy.com coupons until some new ones come out. (Been ordering a lot..), but I will definitely check out that coolpack..I really like personal experiences and trust them much more than what I read on a webpage..

just be sure you get Nickel Metal Hydride.. Digital camera's are high-drain cameras, and NiMH can handle those type of applications better.. if you get alkalines, you can probably expect them to drain out within 20 - 30 shots..

I second that note.....my coolpix drains 4 each day.... If it weren't for Vstore and their hella cheap batteries long ago.... (40 pack for really cheap) I'd be scared.... well I have some time until all my 40 batteries disappear.... Someone find an insane deal!! =) 19.99 radio shack looks good.....but MAHA sounds good quality and convenience wise w/ their car adapater. Thx guys.... nice Reminder =)

A quick note: if you have a ni-cad recharger, it will work with nimh batteries too. There is some risk of damaging the batteries if you leave them in a ni-cad "quick charger" for a long time, as the current might be too high. Nimh batteries should only be charged with a current flow 1/10 of their "maH" rating (i.e., typically a current of 120 mA). If you pull the nimh's out after charging, however, the quick ni-cad rechargers will work fine too.

"Make sure your recharger is designed for the type of batteries you're recharging. Rechargeable batteries now come in three types: nicad, nickel-metal hydride (NiMH), and rechargeable alkaline. Many rechargers on the market are battery-specific, although some can be used with all types of rechargeable batteries. Check the instructions on the recharger and the warning on the battery".

- Consumer Reports, Oct. 2000

Personally, I have two NiCad chargers that flat-out don't work at with my NiMH batteries. One will not turn on, the other will not fully charge NiMH.

I HIGHLY recommend these kodak batteries. They're 1600mAh and any chance I get to get a discount on them, I go for them. With coupons from buy.com or gift certificates to amazon, they end up being dirt cheap.

I first bought these to replace my renewal rechargeables in my digital camera (Kodak DC210+). The renewals would die if I used the LCD for 5 minutes. It was very easy to kill the batteries. When I got the Kodaks, I TRIED to kill them and I couldn't. I left the LCD on, I clicked off tons of pictures. They lasted for ever! Highly recommend.
