Reminder: Income Tax deadline is April 15th.

Some funny snips:

"General Electric's tax return would run to 24,000 pages if printed out"

"General Electric, for example, won't owe any U.S. taxes for 2009, but will instead receive more than $1 billion dollars of tax benefits"

damn, I have been putting off doing my taxes cause I thought I owed a few k's

turns out I have a few Ks coming as a refund.

Nope, it's April 30th.

KT

:awe:

Just finally got around to submitting mine tonight.

Thank god i finally put a tiny bit of $$$ into an RSP...made a big difference for me.
Woulda had to pay if not; instead i get a bit back, yay.

F'ing NY. My accountant had my taxes in a month or so ago. NY is holding onto a few k because they're short on money.

Don't remind me. I hate writing checks that say pay to Infernal Revenue Service
It goes in the mail at the local PO with proof of mailing on the 15th of April
Not one day sooner.

Send your $15 to me & a note to NY that you took care of a portion of their bill.

Got my refund and ever since have been making lists of how I might spend it - all $19. I know it's smart to have little coming back to me but it sure isn't any fun. 🙁

These reminders always make me think of the Simpsons episode where Homer is watching the news on April 14th about all the last minute tax filers and goes "suckers, I did my return last year" and Lisa responds "Dad, you have to file a return every year!"

And then Homer goes into panic mode.

Classic.

I'm finally getting a refund this year. Too bad it's only because I was unemployed for half of 2009.
