REMINDER: Battlestar Galactica on TONIGHT on SCI FI

It's probably worth a look, but I've heard that anyone with nostalgia for the old series is going to have issues with it.

There was an article about it in today's paper. The maker of this series is asking fans of the original BG not to watch this series because it is so different.

I never cared too much for the original and may check this out. From the picture that accompanied the article, at least some of the new robots have a very humanoid shape.

Where are the cool Cylons with the chrome suits and flashing eye?!??! I am all for the attractive bad girl, but it seems like a thinly veiled Seven of Nine (they even named her appropriately). Are they going to convert her to be a good guy before the end of the series?

The Cylons were the best!

Doesn't seem like the new series has much in common with the old series besides the basic story. They are trying to cash in on nostalgia but they changed the whole thing.

Not even the basic stoty line. There's no more Earth.

The only thing the same is the name. ok, i can understand starbuck being a woman now.

but no more metal robots w/flashing red eyes? now they're like Terminator 3? looks human but are machines. and the chief bad guy (girl) is a machine with a sex drive??? WTF :Q

geez..that's like calling a show Star Wars episode 1 and setting it in the old Roman gladiator days. Yeah they have swords but...

I was a big fan of the original series...so I gotta watch this one, even though I'm pretty sure I'm gonna be disappointed. Like a moth to the flame.

The real question is:

Are the action figures gonna suck like the old Cylons that were pre posed so you couldn't move the legs and arms in any meaningful way? That really chapped my ass.

i can see why they felt people nostalgic for the original would hate this. it pretty much sucks.

Apparently it was co-written by the guy that wrote Star Trek: First Contact. He re-wrote Star Trek history with that movie, I guess he figured he would do the same with Battlestar: Galactica too. :disgust:

Without spoilers, is this new one worth seeing? I was a pretty big fan of the original series when I was a kid.
