Remind me never to travel to North Carolina

Actually, no. From the second sentence of that article: "...counselors and therapists or clergy members who have advised a spouse to seek divorce have also been sued for alienation of affections."

I read this one at the bottom

"There is often confusion over where an employees "scope of employment" ends. An example of this would be a minister having sex with a person that has been receiving counseling services from that minister. In theory the minister is acting within the scope of employment because it is their duty to provide these counseling services and it is through these services that they gain access to the victim."

North Carolina's not alone. I guess you'll have to stay out of Hawaii, Illinois, Mississippi, New Mexico, South Dakota, and Utah as well.

And, the way I read it, it's the employer who can be sued if the employee did the deed within the scope of his employment.

i was in north carolina last week, specifically at holden beach.

great time and will go back again next year most likely.

I'm pretty sure every single state has it's good and bad (same goes for any country/place around the world).

Remember one thing, wherever you go, the good ALWAYS outnumbers the BAD.

🙂

Many (about half) of our States still have criminal adultery statutes on the books, let alone civil lawsuit remedies. Granted, they are generally not enforced, but there's always the chance you slip your willie in the wrong hole and you end up serving time in, well, the hole.

My wife's grandparents have a house on Holden Beach. We go there all the time 🙂

BTW, did you eat at Yacht Provision Company while down there?

i actually did eat there. at least i think i did, i just remember it being called "Provisions" but saw a sign for "Provision Co." when i got there.

i ate there, castaways, and paradise cafe.

provisions food was by far the least favorite of my wife and i. it was a neat place though, with the honor system for beer, and the atmosphere was definitely different. food wasn't bad, it was just very mediocore. it was fairly cheap too. wife's burger was like $6. i got the shrimp + crabcake + corn for like $15. was not very much food though.

don't think i would go back there though based solely on the food. would much rather eat the food at castaways or paradise cafe.

cajun shrimp tacos at paradise cafe ... WOW.

Yeah, food is mediocre at best (we normally buy fresh seafood at Captain Pete's seafood market and cook ourselves), but the atmosphere is very nice and they have live performances at night.

they had live music when we were there. it was too loud and i am not a country fan so it was kind of annoying lol.

i heard captain pete's is really good too.

There's always goofy fucking laws on the books in places. It doesn't mean they're strictly (or at all) enforced.

"In North Carolina, alienation of affections suits are still regularly pursued, with an estimated 200 lawsuits a year filed. Courts sometimes award large awards, with a few cases in recent years involving awards of over one million dollars. In March 2010, Cynthia Shackelford won a $9 million suit against her husband's alleged mistress.[2] The most recent case, with the judgment handed down early September 2010, boasted the second highest award in the history of such suits."

I live in north Carolina. Its nice I guess.

Well, you and I both live in a "sane" part of NC... Wake County. The way I see it, once you step out of the 4 major metropolitan areas (Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham, Greensboro/Burlington/Winston-Salem/High Point, Wilmington), shit gets real, real fast 🙂
