Remembering Jim Lehrer

One of my "approximate heroes." A man of great talent and intelligence and, as one commentator put it, "moral intelligence." A stalwart and trustworthy newsman in the mien of Edward R. Murrow. An American in the very best sense of that phrase. One of the last of what I fear is a vanishing breed. 🙁 🙁 🙁

Another great one has passed. When I think back to the very first knowledgeable, credible and professional source of news info I can think of, his is the face I see in my mind. I started watching him on NewsHour as an 11 or 12 year old subsisting on antenna TV in the sticks of Maine. An Ed Murrow for Gen X in a way.

I'll miss you Jim, RIP. Thank you for your service in holding up two honorable institutions.

Edit: Perk beat me to it.
