Remembering an old pet

I remember years ago when my best cat ever was dying of old age. He was no longer able to hold his bodily fluids, and so he often wet himself and would just lay in it.
One day I came home drunk from the bar and threw myself on the floor and starting hugging him and rolling with him, and he was all covered in kitty pee, and so was I, but I didn't care because I was drunk. That's the last time I hugged that cat.
The cat died. The End.

Is this some sort of confession...about how you were so drunk that you came home and pissed yourself while rolling around on the floor, and told your parents it was the cat?

Then you found out they put it down, and guilt has haunted you ever since, right?

Your vignette is worthy of the late, great Charles Bukowski. It is raw and real, and speaks to the inner terror of the human condition. That is the essence of art.

My confessions regarding drink are fearless and thorough. If they were contained in this thread, your post would not have been in the form of a question.

@Perknose

I like your response. I don't fear my inner creature and have no shame. I am truly free.

I had a dog Foxy, a three-legged mini golden retriever. I inherited her when my grandmother died and no one wanted a 10 year old dog with problems (they did take her other 3 dogs that were excellent guard dogs on her property/farm).

Everyone loved that dog and she loved everyone.

My ex-wife wanted her cremated, the urn is still here with her collar and leash.

Honestly I think I am in love with you.

Unfortunately, the extent of my 'prison' time is about 24-48 hours.

I have friends and family that did hard time.

I could post Newsweek articles, but no one would believe them anyway and it would escalate into sheer stupidity.

Fuck you. We lost TheFlyingPig due to threads like this!

Well deserved and he is not lost, just has to be a MAN and apologize for his indiscretion.

However; he won't and bitches like you will eventually make it easy to finally let him back in another year or so.

Our last dog we put down almost 3 years ago. I still think about her from time to time. She was a good dog and we miss her still.

It will kill me when I have to do that to this cat. He is such a lover and so gentle. Best cat ever. :'(
