Remember when rappers DJ's were SOMEBODY!

Dr. Detroit

Diamond Member
Rob Base & DJ EZ Rock
Kool G Rap & DJ Polo
DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince
DJ Magic Mike

Public Enemy - Terminator X
Ice-T - DJ Evil E
NWA - DJ Yella

Who else had big time DJ's?

Just reminiscing listening to my 80's station when "It Takes Two" from My Name is Earl fame came on. 😱

🙂 good stuff...
now rap is all thuggish instead of urban. It is sad.
It bolsters the false sense to the poor that being poor allows them the liberty to do cruel, bad things.

**EDIT**
Roots is pretty good. And some of the Underground DJs.

afrika bambaataa was a pioneer. kut master kurt was good and of course grand master flash

mix master mike dj'd for the beastie boys

green lantern quit a few months ago. green lantern asked when jada was going to finish off 50 and it was recorded for a documentary, and since green was the d.j. for shady records, he decided to quit rather than create an incident. em replaced him with alchemist.

exactly. and thats why i like his music, because i hate rap that talks about that crap. killing my damn eardrums with that 'flash this/flash that' crap. hell, since someone mentioned dj shadow earlier, im going to listen to some lyrics born and gift of gab now.

DJ Babu w/ Dilated Peoples is a great DJ, also part of the Beat Junkies crew. DJ Abilities w/ Eyedea is also a good DJ.

since this thread is at the top and im more adding comments than adding to the list... ill throw out there dj premier of gang starr.
