I quit UO in 2002 or 2003 when the ridiculousness of the expansions was starting to skyrocket. I wasn't exactly happy with skills going to 125, but it was still sort of playable. But when they screwed the classes up, added weird new worlds and stuff, that was the end of the line for me.
I also only started playing shortly after Trammel was introduced, so I didn't quite experience the "true" UO as the oldtimers were saying.
Needless to say, I had shitloads of fun in those two years.

One of the biggest downsides of the game was extremely shitty client with absolutely horrible performance.

Any old timers want to give a t2a shard a shot? I've asked this before and I'll ask it again...

well if anyone's interested i started back up on a free shard

i picked uo:r instead of t2a because in my older age i don't have the patience or luxury to deal with old school UO.

i'm anticipating nobody's gonna join me, so i started off with a treasure hunter fisherman template. this is going a lot better than last time - got my macros up and running. weeee.

Does it actually used old school provocation? Where GM provoke means 100% on every mob, not the changed difficulty based garbage they implemented later?

^^ no idea as I never used that skill in my uo career

grinded my way up to 63.7 hiding and 57.1 fishing so far ^_^

I'm playing on a completely custom server, Khaeros. But mechanics are very different from the original UO and hard to understand at first and server is forced-RP. But someone feels like joining a serious RP server, feel free to join Khaeros, always good to have more players.
