I want to speed up the kids computer and I don't want to reinstall windows and everything else.

I have a k7m with a 500 processor. I know the k7m will support up to one gig but I can't remember if it will support the slot Thunderbird. I was thinking that it will but my memory isn't what it used to be. 😉 I have combed through asus website but I can't seem to find this old info.

While I am at it does anyone know where I can pick up a slot cooler. Geeks has processors but no hs/f.

I got a 900mhz tbird slot a Athlon for xmas. Its running just fine in my K7m, which happens to be my main computer still 😉
 
Thanks, I was thinking I was going to upgrade to a tbird when it was still my main machine. But it has been long enough that my memory was a little fuzzy. I just wanted to check before I bought one.

No problem. I have the latest BIOS update if that helps. Dont know the version or anything though. And I got my hsf from coolerguys.com a while back.
