there were threads on this yesterday. The 1st gen Isuzu Rodeo (which were the less safe) rated better than this Chinese clone. Not the best marks, but nowhere close to "0%".

And there are 2 Rodeos on my block... 1 is in my driveway. The reason you don't see them as much is because it's an Isuzu... even the one with the Honda badge. Though, it's been mechanically flawless for me for 11 years running. It's a very technically sound truck and rated one of the best 4WD systems for its time (around '95).

i think the Isuzu trooper is a pretty nice car, never looked up the crash ratings on it though... and I dont' think I want to.

...wanna know why you don't see them around?

Dunno. I have one of the Honda badged ones and the crash test data for mine is 4 stars front impact and 5 stars side.

Correct.

I also had a Rodeo. Good reliable vehicle...excellent off road capability. Pretty cheap interior materials and build quality isn't that great. Lots of rattles and some minor annoying crap went wrong on it but overall a pretty good vehicle. I wouldn't buy another one though.

Edit-Don't know how I hit q instead of b...they aren't anywhere near each other on the keyboard...

Yes, the Landwind made by JiangLing Motors. Looks like a clone of the Isuzu Rodeo/Opel Frontera/Vauxhall Frontera.

Any of the newer-than-97s got scores of 4 out of 5. The 96 model (last of the 1st gens) got 3/4 out of 5. It's the 95 (mine) and prior that got a low 3 out of 5.

This chinese model looks to be a lot worse than 3/5.

It's just half the Rodeo basically. They eventually named it the Rodeo Sport. I did pick the Rodeo over the other SUVs based on looks alone.
