Best computer gaming system EVER. So many great games. I wish I still had mind - would take it over the top of the line Intel or AMD systems today.

What were some of your favorite games? I played so many - so many jems!

Great Zaxxon-style game, I made it all the way to the end of that one. Synapse had other good games too.

Nostalgia is a powerful thing eh? No way in hell I want to go back using one other than to reaffirm that waiting that long for a game to load really did suck.

Gold Box edition games like secret of the silver blades, wasteland, rock'n'roll racing destruction, mail order monsters, archon, spelunker, summer/winter games etc by epyx, defender of the crown and the rest of the cinemaware catalog. ...

I had over 200 double sided floppies worth of crappie that I gave away when I got my amiga

Haha, no doubt, I remember at a friend's house, we started a game loading, his mom called us downstairs for dinner, and when we got back upstairs, it was just about done loading.

Had a Vic20, but never had the C64. Always wanted an Amiga. The C64 certainly was legendary though, certainly the most influential PC platform of the 80's, as far as Gaming is concerned anyway.

Mailorder Monsters! I played gunship and F15 Strike Eagle like crazy too, but the graphics were terrible, ran at like 5 fps or something.

If there's so much love, it seems that there are a lot of C64 emulators to choose from. Have at it!

I'll admit to spending hundreds of hours on my C64, but it was Wolfenstein 3D, Doom, Quake, and Unreal that changed my world.

C64 to C128. I wouldn't replace my current system(s) but I'd live to play thru some of the classics.

Fort Apocalypse
The Ultima Series
Questron I & II
The Gold Box Games
M. U. L. E.
Archon I & II
Yep - the Olympic Games
Lode Runner

Some guilty pleasures:
Beach Head
The Forbidden Forest

More like Cheeto.

I know the C64 doesn't hold a candle to any of the modern systems, but back then a lot more relative focus was placed on the quality of the game and its design versus the graphics.

C 64 was great but I returned it for the C 128. Ran a BBS called "Life in a Black Hole" with 1581 floppies

"M.U.L.E
and
Empire Deluxe"

Wholly shit, MULE was awesome, but Empire Deluxe was FREAKING SWEET. Me and my friends would play each other, games would take weeks, and I never lost. I nearly failed out of high school because I couldn't concentrate on the lessons because I was thinking of strategies so much.

Forgot about Defender of the Crown - so awesome. I remember the scene where you marry a princess of another kingdom and then it shows you going into the bedroom with her or something. I got a hard-on haha.

I was quite young when we had our C64. I barely remember the thing but I remember I used it a lot. I used to play a game where you would design a breakdancing routine and then watch it. For some reason I would just set it to Boogaloo over and over again. And I thought that was hilarious.
