John Popper really isn't my speed - he is very talented but I always thought his harmonica playing was like masturbation with a harmonica, and ultimately satisfying only to him. Sadly for him, the feds may make an example of him and take his vehicle because of the presence of pot. Bummer but that's what ya get being a minor celebrity and driving at such high speeds with drugs and tons of weapons in the car.

Meh. Celebrities always get off. If they make an example of him, that IMO will be more on account of his outspoken and out-there political views.

I saw it happen. They passed me like I was standing still and I was thinking it would be funny if they got caught. Ten minutes later I see a WSP car with lights flashing and the same black AMG suv pulled over. Then the reinforcements started showing up. I didn't know who he was at the time, I just thought he was some rich ass who thought he owned the road. I figured he passed me atleast at 100+ mph, seems he was caught doing about 111mph.

Note: I have nothing against rich asses, I wish I was one. I was working--driving my truck to Seattle and wish I could be moving that fast. I also was hoping he'd get caught just so I wouldn't have to worry about the WSP catching me going 68mph. Thanks John!!!!

shens

yeah, because when I lie I make up stuff not reported in the news. DO you see AMG reported in any of the news stories? No, thought so.

I believe his name is John Popper, not Fat Blues Traveler Singer. I could be wrong though.

There had to be someone who knew his name...

It's in the article.

It was a joke because he is in a one hit wonder band......

Blues Traveler was far from a one-hit wonder band.

Sorry, I didn't mean to offend. Most people, myself included, only know them/him from one song.

He did. I saw Blues Traveler in Saint Louis 3 or 4 years ago and he wouldn't have stood out in a crowd for being heavy. Still had his fat-man voice, though, it was kinda funny. It was a really fun show.

In Illinois that AMG SUV would be a state trooper vehical in no time.

How do you masterbate with a harmonica? Ah it wasn't just a cigar after all Bill!

I love how a collection of guns is a "cache" now -- typical Seattle.

So, I remember driving to the range one time in Texas with 4 rifles, 3 handguns, and about 2,000 rounds of ammunition. I guess we had a "cache", too. Of course, in Texas, that's considered a minimum amount for home defense. :D

According to the new channels out here, a couple of guns is a "cache." OMG you should hear how they are when they find a few bottles in a liquor cabinet and a couple hundreds in a dresser drawer! "The alleged were also in possession of alcohol and undisclosed amounts of cash!" Teh horrors!

How could you not like his music? John Popper is IMO the greatest harmonicist who has ever lived.

The gun possession and marijuana are misdemeanors. I thought it was pretty well-known that Popper was kind of a nut in this regard. I don't care, there's no valid reason why possession of this kind should be illegal anyway, beyond questionable laws passed by moralist (or populist) assholes and sold to the stupid sheep in the electorate.

There is no indication in the article that gun possession was a crime here.

Eh? Oops, I misread where the article said "the crimes involved" when all he was booked for was the MJ.

2. Go get a dictionary and tell the class what cache means you idiot.

Gee, the guy whose signature apparel accessory is a bandoleer? Go figure.

The "hidden compartments" description is rather queer in reference to the convenient drawer in the hatch area. That's like saying a car trunk (or a box in it) is a hidden compartment in some nefarious way. Is that to imply that some nitwit prefer they were rolling around loose in the back and/or clearly visible through the glass by any passerby?

On a side note, the "his & hers" gray rifles are simply precious.

if it's not on mtv it didn't happen

blues traveler has a lot of great songs..people should stop watching MTV.

John Popper had surgery to make him unfat. It worked..he is still a big guy but he was huge before. Its kinda funny looking though cause his head is still big

In any case..he is a god with a harmonica.

Yeah, if what he had was a "cache," I wonder what they would classify my "collection" as?

It died a quick airtime death since it didn't get requested as much as Runaround did, would be my guess.

Buzzword? Hahahhahaha. You are right, the news story probably meant that term as redneck slang and not as the dictionary states:

1 a: a hiding place especially for concealing and preserving provisions or implements b: a secure place of storage
2: something hidden or stored in a cache
3: a computer memory with very short access time used for storage of frequently or recently used instructions or data ?called also cache memory

Please share with us where this is a buzzword.....

Wolverine Squadron finds cache near Radwaniyah
EOD Marines Will Blow Your Cache
Keeping Weapons Away From Insurgents From this article:
The 2nd Combined Arms Battalion, 136th Infantry Regiment conducts weapons cache sweeps in order to achieve this goal.
U.S., Iraqi forces uncover series of weapons caches in Iraq
Ghost Soldiers Discover Secret Room, Hidden Cache
U.S. Finds Major Weapons Cache in Iraq

And those articles only go back a few days. Yep, that word is not in the news at all: Military.com, AP, Reuters, Stars & Stripes, ABC, CBS, CNN, Newsday, NY Times, Washington Post and on and on and on. I didn't post the others because Google is your friend. Hint: check the "News" section.

I wouldn't expect someone from Seattle to read anything about the ongoing war, though.
