Remember that cop who baked pot brownies and thought he was gonna die?

Mrvile

Lifer
Dearborn, Mich. -- A police officer will avoid criminal charges despite admitting he took marijuana from criminal suspects and, with his wife, baked it into brownies.
The police department's decision not to pursue a case against former Cpl. Edward Sanchez left a bad taste in the mouth of at least one city official, who vowed to investigate.

"If you're a cop and you're arresting people and you're confiscating the marijuana and keeping it yourself, that's bad. That's real bad," said City Councilman Doug Thomas.
Sanchez, who resigned last year from the department in this Detroit suburb, declined comment Wednesday to the Detroit Free Press. Police Cmdr. Jeff Geisinger did not return calls seeking comment.
The department's investigation began with a 911 call from Sanchez's home on April 21, 2006. On a 5-minute tape of the call, obtained by the Free Press, Sanchez told an emergency dispatcher he thought he and his wife were overdosing on marijuana.

"I think we're dying," he said. "We made brownies and I think we're dead, I really do."
Sanchez later told police investigators that his wife took the marijuana out of his police vehicle while he was sleeping. In a subsequent interview, he admitted he got the marijuana out of the car himself and put it in the brownie mix, police said.

His wife also was not charged.

 Figures.

"I think we're gonna die... my wife is gonna die... wait can you tell me the score to the Red Sox game? is it really 3-3 I Want to know if i'm hallucinating. My wife is gonna die!!"

Here is part of it (click the video): http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/18587902/

i mean cut the guy some slack.
he's suffered enough. Overdosing on marijuana is very traumatic.
there is nothing more to see here. move along.

he should've been charged, although i did get a kick out of the 911 call he put in.

"time is going really really slow"

Yeah it was funny as hell, but it gave me douche chills.. I mean the guy sounded like a real poo-haa on the tape.

But come on, who that smokes (or like in my case used to smoke) hasn't been there ? Suck it up and ride it out man.

Then again we have some pretty top shelf stuff out here in Nor-Cal.. Maybe it isnt as common everywhere else 😉

it was his first time iirc. that would account for him freaking out, but still. . . he went overboard.

Yeah first time at age ( I assume) 30 something.. I guess that would be kinda freaky..

Edit, after re-listening he is 29, his wife is 26

A police officer broke the law by stealing drugs, and when he took them, he freaked out. He then got off scott free. This is f@cking hilarious.

I'll take "Who's High on PCP" for 400 please, Alex.

That wasn't just weed, partner!

that's the dumbest police officer alive.

edit: figures another cop gets off scott free. WTF is with all these stories of cops getting away with crimes that nobody else would get away with?

What I thought was funny was that in the audio, the cop asked the 911 operator what the Red Wings game score was.

Yeah, that was great..

I would have had to start messing with him though..

"The Red Wings?"
" Sir, Hockey season has been over for months.. Its superbowl Sunday for chrissakes!"
"How can you live in the greater Detroit Metro area and not know the Lions have just won their first superbowl ever ?"

Ok, well maybe I would have made it a bit more believable, but still 😉

Haha, he took a mere quad of what probably was shwaggy shwag, cooked it into an entire batch of brownies, had a small chunk, and was "tripping" his eyes out. And no, I'm pretty sure I've ever been in that guy's situation where calling 911 after getting "too" high was necessary. They had no idea what they were doing. And according to the report, the wife had apparently done coke before, and a lot of it, and they end up calling emergency for weed. Weeeaaak.

Not to mention he didn't actually overdose, unless he put like 2 POUNDS of marijuana into the brownie mix and ate it all, by himself, in one sitting. It is pretty much impossible to overdose on THC.

It is already apparent the guy was weak minded, by being poor at his job, so that probably explains his reaction to the pot. Any psychedelic drug is going to have a bad effect on weak minded people.

Actually, the medical overdose for marijuana is 40 consumed (smoked or ingested) pounds within one hour.

What a well-written news story. He's a police officer, yet he resigned last year. How does that work? 😕

Ok, so it forgot to include the word "former."

The department's investigation began with a 911 call from Sanchez's home on April 21, 2006.

That actually happened a good while back.
