I used to have that book. I remember one thing out of it, something called "nut busters." They would take your ordinary plastic piping, just large enough to fit a 12 gauge shotgun shell comfortably inside. They would then put some "wings" (sorry, don't know of the more accurate term) on the side of the pipe to give it direction and stability, a cork on the bottom (same side as the primer on the shell), and put a large nail through the cork right over the primer, but with enough space so that when thrown off a building, the nail would strike the primer, and... yah, thus the term nut busters.
Sounds like it'd work, don't think I'd ever want to try it though.
