Dumbass probably made his Iran deal decision based on that tweet as well. Man has the resources of the entire US government at his disposal and he makes policy decisions based on what he sees on a 24 hour news channel.

Admittedly I am assuming that Fox News ran a story about the test based on the Iranian report and then updated it later after the intelligence community determined it was a fake.

Don't know about originally, but Fox news was the first one to report that it was a fake, at least according to CNN. "Fox news was the first to report that the US believes the launch did not take place."

It's very important that Strongman Trump programs his poorly educated voter base to be very afraid of any and all shadows that Strongman Trump pretends to be able to protect them from.
 
Trump, the first POTUS who, in spite of having superior access to accurate information as compared to the general public, instead gets his information from TV and the internet, then makes public statements on the basis of this. All he has to do is call in his Chief of Staff and say, hey, can you call DoD and find out what's going on with Iran and this missile test we're hearing about? Instead, he just sends the tweet without checking. He's been made to look like a drooling moron before because of this, and since that seems to be the image he wants to cultivate, why stop now.
