Here's a pic comparing the ebay auction's pic (left) to an older pic I took of my car (right).

I made two mods to the car between the time I took that picture, and the time the car was stolen:
1) Cut the fan shroud shorter
2) Replaced the FMU (blue round thing mounted on the truct tower) with larger fuel injectors.

That supercharger is fairly uncommon. I've seen 1 besides my own in real life. The fact that it's on another white fox body mustang would be suspicious in and of itself. The big metal tube going through the fender doesn't come with the supercharger: I purchased from a seperate company and had it shipped here from Illinois. The rubber ring around it where it enters the fender isn't a stock part, it's a piece of tubing that I split down one side to keep from scratching the pipe. Stock mustang valve covers aren't blue, they're aluminum colored. I painted mine.

You'll note that all the modified wiring off to the left for supercharger related stuff is run in exactly the same way. Even the scratches on the inside of the fender match.

The sticker (blue and red) on the blower didn't come on it. It was added by the guy who rebuilt the blower for me about two years ago for $800. He's the only person in the world who still services these blowers commercially, as far as I know.

WHOA!!....yep that is yours alright.

Good Luck Notfred, I hope the guy(s) get caught and their new roommate(s) at the county jail teaches them a new meaning to personal invasion.

I know it is bad for me, as a Christian, to say such things but sometimes it needs to be done.

Do you have the serail number? and also a reciept?

If not you have NO CASE. Does not matter if it LOOKS like yours or is even kinda rare, you have to prove it is YOURS, as since it is in their possesion it is YOU thats has to prove ownership, not them.

But good luck, and hope you have the info from the part?

ummm...dude....its the whole car.

VIN, title, insurance, police report. all those great things will get his car back.

Plus, the unique markings in the posted photo matching the ones that are in his car are more than circumstancial.

the markings are circumstantial but only prove they are photos of the same car, they don't go to prove ownership. vin's however do.

Correct.

And I thought the car got hacked up and the auction was for the supercharger ONLY?

Also did you have any insurance? I think I remember you saying no and it was just a total lose(to you)? But if you did get anything from the insurance company then it would be THEIR car.

That and is the car listed in another state and/or are you missing the title? I don't see how they could sell the car with out one, BUT I have seen peopel take VIN plates off wrecked cars they have the title for and then sale a car.

Not all vin's are removable. Not without a LOT of work. Even then there are some that sopposed to be hidden. but it seems a lot of people know of them anyway.

if they go and check it out they will be able to find a vin.

i dont' think we are talking professionals here (the people that stole his car i mean). do you think Pros would have taken a pic of the Superchargers still IN the car?? only stupid fvck amateurs would have done that. i doubt they even know where the VIN plate is.

Would this work?

1) You place a bid (or someone you know)
2) You request his contact details
3) Do a reverse phone lookup (assuming he's listed in the phone book) getting his address and maybe finding your stolen car?

You should give it a try.

pros - the thing would have been parted within a week.

Also if mem serves me correctly the VIN is all over the place (motor, frame, doors, etc)...not just the one you can see on the dash.

yeah i agree with this..or have the cops win the auction 🙂

couldn't you ask for the vin # for insurance purposes ? some guy would give it to u..

is the auction location listed in the same state as you or different state ?

i agree. I don't see them being proffessionals. If so the charger would be OUT of the car. they wouldnt want to take the chance on the car being spotted or the old owner seeing the Ebay auction for it.

As rossman pointed out have someone win the auction. Get teh contact info and turn them in. Might want to have someone out of state do it. Or if someone in state asks to see it before purchase.

Actually, the dumbass thief listed a phone number in the auction. Good luck, Notfred, nail the bastard.

Bitch is selling your tailights too!!

At least he posed them on the back of his red mustang with the license plate fully visible 😉
