Why yes I do. His Faithful would crucify Jesus if he was critical of Trump and that's just the Evangelicals. Yet it is not they who are investigating. This provides reasons to continue to investigate and if it came to it Trump either spills it or face yet another criminal charge. One more straw for the camel's back.

And as for his loyal supporters, whatever comes out of his mouth is the truth. Once spoken it doesn't matter that those "truths" are thoroughly debunked the minute after he says them. All that matters is he spoke it, 'nuff said.

I'm thinking his supporters have by now developed a gajillion different ways to justify and validate the constant stream of lies coming out of that sewer pipe below his nose.

I wish you were right, but I am afraid the other posters who said it wont matter are correct. The only way it would "matter" in regard to formal punishment is if he told the lie under oath. But even then, he is so slippery, and his base so unquestionably loyal I am not sure it would matter. Basically the only way any of his lies/personal indiscretions can matter is if he is impeached. And while Republicans control both houses of congress, and dont have the balls to stand up to Trump's base, that is not going to happen.
 
Who in his right mind thinks he can keep something like this a secret? Its just stupid! .. Eeeeeverybody knows that if you are gonna lie you should keep it as close to the truth as possible.

So, Trump could never have lied about not being there, because he asked people that traveled with him and they told him that he wasn't there; so it's their fault if he actually did stay there but claimed otherwise. No Lie! No Collusion!

Not to rain on anyone's parade but has Trump himself openly claimed he didn't stay overnight? His tweets seem to show the opposite.

I bring this up as his voters won't need to claim anything other than Comey is lying if Trump never claimed this publicly as opposed to only appearing in Comey's own memos.

Well of course he will just say Comey is lying. Even if he had said it publicly it wouldn’t matter as he contradicts his own public statements too.

I kind of hope he says Comey is lying though as that would be pretty funny. It would mean the Comey memos had gone from being lies, to the truth, back to being lies in about a week. Haha.

Trump has publicly contradicted nearly all of his past tweets, so it's not like this is going to be some gotcha that gets him out of trouble. He's claimed he was there, claimed he wasn't there, and has recently claimed that his assistants told him that he wasn't there.

What's the real statement? No one knows, really.

Yeah, this why I thought he might be able to be charged with lying to the FBI. He lied to the FBI director about a fact in an ongoing investigation.
